The point is not to pay back kindness but to pass it on. - Julia Alvarez
Here you’ll find links to some of the charities and organizations to which I’ve dedicated my support in recent years, followed by links to some of the friends with whom I’ve had the privilege of working. I hope you’ll take time to check them out and support their endeavors in any way possible. Thanks for your support!
Some people give time, some money, some their skills and
connections, some literally give their life's blood. But everyone has something
to give. - Barbara Bush
Chimp Haven (located in Caddo Parish, Louisiana) is a sanctuary and a permanent
home for chimpanzees retired from biomedical research, entertainment, or no
longer wanted as pets. When zoos are full, and release into the wild is not
an option, Chimp Haven gives these chimps the special care and conditions they
require. The cost of maintaining chimpanzees in the natural environment at
Chimp Haven is half of the laboratory expense – providing a tremendous
savings of taxpayers’ dollars.
Cancer is a devastating disease that has been in my family for generations.
More than 1500 Americans die each day from this insistent killer, but researchers
are growing closer every day to finding a cure. The American Cancer Society
is making a difference every day in the lives of people touched by cancer.
Your contributions help fund their programs of research, education, advocacy,
and service, leading us to our ultimate goal – the elimination of cancer.
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is a pediatric treatment and research
facility which treats children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases.
Doctors across the world send their toughest cases and most vulnerable patients
to St. Jude’s, where no one pays for treatment beyond what is covered
by insurance, and those without insurance are never asked to pay. St. Jude’s
is America's 3rd-largest health-care charity, with a model that keeps the costs
down and the funds flowing, so the science never stops.

Jordan Addison is a dear friend of mine who played piano on the Promenade deck of the Fascination in the evenings, as well as for Tea Time on sea days. I loved to jump in and sing at his sets once in a while. Oftentimes, you could find us rehearsing together in Club 88 or one of the dining rooms, or having fun just ‘winging it’ and taking requests from the crowd. Check out his awesome website to learn more about Jordan, join his mailing list, and purchase his CD! |
J Scott Browning was my ‘partner-in-crime’ aboard Carnival’s
ms Fascination. As the lead singers for the production shows “Hollywood” and “Broadway,” we
performed over 200 shows together, entertaining nearly a quarter of a million
passengers while sailing the Caribbean seas! Cruise on by his
website to learn more about this talented leading man. |

John Patti and his amazing talent on the steel drums are a highlight to ‘Dani and the HALCats’ aboard Holland America Lines’ ms Veendam. He lends his Caribbean flair to our deck sets and sailaway parties, and adds his percussion rhythms at Captain’s champagne receptions and production shows. On his website, you’ll find information about his upcoming gigs, and how you can purchase his CD. |
